BAPE is releasing its first collaborative collection with ©SAINT Mxxxxxx later this week. The collection comes after BAPE commemorated its 30th anniversary with new limited edition prints.
In this particular collection, the capsule focuses on three graphic t-shirts that see the BAPE’s ape motif revitalized through the ©SAINT Mxxxxxx lens. One of the graphics appears to take inspiration from the popular animation series, Beavis and Butt-Head where the characters are given an Ape-like makeover featuring co-branding of both labels. Continuing the comical theme, another shirt takes inspiration from Japanese anime, while another features a black-and-white silhouette of an ape. Together, the collaboration gives a portrayal of the ©SAINT Mxxxxxx Ape, better known as the “SAINT APE” or “SAINT BAPE,” in this circumstance.
Each of the t-shirts are treated with a vintage aesthetic, as it carries out the comic-style illustrations, mixed in with the sentai and skull motifs. The collection is slated to hit select BAPE and ©SAINT Mxxxxxx retailers and online starting on April 29.
