Italian luxury fashion House Giorgio Armani has an extensive history of portraying well-dressed men at their best, injecting its 48-year experience into every garment design. The brand never limits itself, showing season after season that it can deliver something new while staying true to its elegant ethos. While its Fall/Winter 2023 runway was dominated by aviation and military themes, Spring/Summer 2024 sees Giorgio Armani return to the start of it all.
Giorgio Armani graced Milan Fashion Week with its usual sophisticated roar, welcoming guests with oversized pencil decorations to signify the writing of history. SS24 referenced Mr. Armani’s first menswear collection from 1975, transmitted through raffia woven shirting, bags, and footwear used in his debut. The brand’s customary suiting was crafted from lightweight fabrics, featuring minimalistic pockets and textured slouchy trousers.
Collarless jackets shined against satin tops and printed cardigans, accompanied by gradient silk scarves wrapped around models’ necks. Most of the 81 men that walked the runway carried straw hats in hand, communicating beachside escapes away from the city. Giorgio Armani moved into nightfall with pitch-black wool field jackets, miniature checkered uniforms, and playful linear shirting. The looks continued casually with monogram ensembles and geometric illustrations, completing the collection with a series of all-white garments and classic formal options.
