Rihanna has broken another record, though this time it’s not regarding any sort of music project or endeavor. The singer joined famed jewelry designer Jacob The Jeweler of Jacob & Co. to create a diamond-swathed watch choker, becoming the first person to ever rock one of the brand’s timepieces on their neck.
Costing quite the pretty penny, the choker’s composition justifies its $700,000 USD price tag. On Instagram, Jacob & Co. explained that the 47-mm white gold Brilliant Flying Tourbillon watch, comprised of a whopping 368 diamonds, was reimagined and reconstructed to be worn as a choker. The glimmering timepiece displays an array of baguette-cut diamonds that total over 30 carats, all of which are displayed on a black leather band.
In another Instagram post, Jacob & Co. shared that Rihanna herself played an integral role in the creation of the innovative timepiece. “When Rihanna approached Jacob & Co, she had a vision to create a watch choker that would serve as a remarkable fashion statement for the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton fashion show,” the brand wrote.
The singer paired the statement accessory with an all-denim Louis Vuitton outfit, matching with A$AP Rocky.
