Nottingham-based label Universal Works is preparing to launch its seasonal “Hotel Deluxe” collection, primed for South Asian summer getaways.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Universal Works travels to “the best hotel you’ve never stayed,” inspired by a “notional film” that crosses through your creative mind. The brand visits India this time around, celebrating the country’s textile heritage and local inhabitants. The collection embodies traveler photographs channeled into embroidered garments with a story to tell.
Lightweight workwear shirts and drawstring shorts sport faded linear detailing, matched with summer-ready shirting with monogram illustrations. Woven co-ords are layered beneath collarless cardigans, next to beaded work jackets with cultural embroidery and Hindi lettering. Pinstriped suits and pocketed field jackets complete the offering alongside printed linen trousers, striped tees, and more.
