London-based streetwear brand AELIZA has connected with global youth platform, New Currency, to develop a collaborative T-shirt that represents the “bleeding of new ideas onto existing institutions today.”
For AELIZA, community is always at its core. Having recently held an installation that allowed fans to swap a book for the brand’s Messenger Bag, Jack Harper’s imprint also champions emerging talent, such as rising rappers Lord Apex and Vinch, who have both been featured in previous brand campaigns.
Now, AELIZA’s latest project with New Currency looks to celebrate further emerging talent, with their latest tee spotlighting Brian FM, a Toronto-based artist and videographer that is “integral to the documentation and exposure of Toronto’s youth culture.”
As per AELIZA and New Currency’s Instagram account, Brian FM is often seen armed with his camera and immersed in the city, capturing every club night and art show. Additionally, Brain FM also represents a new generation of individuals in Toronto who are “embracing D.I.Y. spirit, community building, and the exchange of resources in an effort to push forward creative culture.”
The collaborative T-shirt made in honor of Brian FM represents and represents this same spirit. It’s also designed with a bleach spray across the front, signifying the notion of blossoming ideas, which is at the core of New Currency’s ethos.
