Emerging British designer Jean-Luc Ambridge only sees one way: up. He continues to storm the UK fashion scene through transformative technical garments that complement the body’s natural abilities. While Ambridge’s previous collection explored natural phenomena through time, Spring/Summer 2024 sees _J.L-A.L_ enter a new chapter.
For _J.L-A.L_, SS24 is a reflection of self and sets an investigative microscope against traditional menswear archetypes. The brand uses repetition to evaluate functional design through elevated formats, embracing utilitarian motifs across triple-collared necktie shirts and specialized outerwear with multiple arm compartments.
Elsewhere, hooded caps receive detachable pockets that can be reshaped into a crossbody bag, while natural fabrics produce frilled windbreakers and shimmering knitwear. Finally, pierced car coats and matching trousers reveal tinted textiles beneath, putting classic British tailoring into perspective. While _J.L-A.L_ analyzes its mastered craft, the collection gives insight into its future.
