Orienteer Mapazine

Rory Griffin and Jack West’s love for the great outdoors is no secret, and for their eighth issue of Orienteer Mapazine, the London-based duo reflects on the patterns an animal portrays when defending itself, titling the print “Deimatic Behaviour.”

Inside the Ordnance Survey map-inspired publication, which spans 240 pages and a 32-page mapazine that acts as an even deeper nod to the maps, you’ll find plenty of topics that cover all themes and touchpoints related to the outdoors. For example, there’s a feature on Johanna Parv, the Central Saint Martins graduate who makes technical urban wear and utility gear for women, an interview with the Satisfy Running athlete Stian Dahl Somerseth, a Cani-X editorial with MM6 Maison Margiela, and a documentary-style portrayal of the migration of monarch butterflies.

Furthermore, editorials spotlight clothing and collections from the likes of RANRA, Haven, Charlie Constantinou, and 66North, and all of this is found within a selection of four covers. Here, Orienteer Mapazine has used a variety of paper stocks and neon printing to create a tactile reading environment, one that is enhanced by custom typography courtesy of All Purpose, a creative studio known for its work on various other UK-based publications
