Earlier this year, Moncler took to London Fashion Week and delivered several collections with boundary-pushing creatives. The brand’s inventive Genius line enlisted Pharrell Williams, Palm Angels, Alicia Keys, and more to redesign its dynamic cold-weather staples, continuing its public roll-out following the latter’s collection launch.
Now, NYC-born designer Salehe Bembury introduces his outdoor-ready Moncler Genius collaboration. Bembury’s functional and utilitarian identity can be felt throughout, designing a luxurious offering for explorers everywhere.
Bembury pulled inspiration from Moncler’s 1950s archival ēquipements line, revisiting dated mountaineering codes for modern-day hikers. The designer’s trademark thumbprint motif is puffed and blasted onto Moncler’s down-filled outerwear, giving jackets and vests three-dimensional DNA patterns. Collarless shirting is delivered in angelic pink tones, while others boast pocketed harnesses to carry essentials uphill.
Retro Moncler ēquipements lettering enhances double-collared hoodies and crewnecks with skin-toned punctures, completing the apparel with swirled bottoms and textured beanies. Bembury’s rebellious attitude is channeled into Moncler’s Trailgrip sneaker, boasting earth-toned palettes, fingerprint-inspired indentations, and spiked VIBRAM soles.
Take a closer look at Salehe Bembury’s Moncler Genius collaboration in the gallery above. The range will be available in-store and online via Moncler on July 14.
