A-COLD-WALL* is back with the second installment in its partnership with Timberland. As part of the footwear company’s Future73 initiative, which sees a number of global tastemakers reimagine the brand’s catalog, the collaboration enlists British fashion designer Samuel Ross as he re-presents some of Timberland’s signature staples, along with releasing a small batch of apparel goods.
Starting with the Premium 6-Inch Zip Boot, Ross characteristically opts for a minimal aesthetic as he dresses the shoe down in a supple jet black regenerative leather across the upper, which is equipped with a hefty lug outsole and a sleek side zipper by the inside heel. For a more low-top fit, the 3-Eye Lug is crafted in a dark sapphire ripstop material, which is complemented by water-resistant GORE-TEX lining atop its similarly rugged lug outsole.
Predominantly made by master Italian artisans, the collection is about a “return of craft,” noted Ross in a statement, “the return of family ateliers and the notion of apprenticeship, which needs to be protected.” To accompany the boots, Ross also designed a small capsule of knitwear, sweatshirts, and pants, as well as a co-branded utility vest.
The second Timberland x Samuel Ross Future73 collection will be available on August 29 online and at select global retailers.
