Grieving the loss of its co-founder Chris “Spanto” Printup, Born X Raised looks to continue honoring the late designer’s celebrated vision with collaborations that feel familiar. After releasing a tribute “Spanto Lives” T-shirt, the Los-Angeles based brand has unveiled a new mid-season collaboration with Spanto’s hometown baseball team, the Dodgers.
Born X Raised has partnered with the Los Angeles Dodgers over the last several seasons, and this latest team-up only further cements the brand’s connection to the famed MLB team, with a signature New Era hat and a bevy of ready-to-wear items.
Hoodies and crewneck sweaters, in blue, brown, black and white, feature combined iconography on the front chest and across the back. T-shirts, in identical shades, similarly shed light on the streetwear label and the Major League squad’s emblems, while the coveted hat returns with a textural take on the crossover logo.
Pictured at Pico Sports Arena, the collection’s campaign spotlights the mid-season capsule alongside Charros, highlighting the generational themes that the sport of Charreria shares with the LA Dodgers. In another tribute, the sartorial delivery pictures Spanto, wearing the line’s black hoodie and riding horseback at the arena prior to his passing.
