adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE +2.97%) and Real Madrid have just unveiled their new Third Kit for the 2023/24 season — and Guestcn linked up with English wonderkid and new Madrid signing, Jude Bellingham, for the first official look.
Evoking strong memories of Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph in 2000, the black and yellow kit presents close similarities to the jersey the team wore during its final against Valencia when goals from Fernando Morientes, Steve McManaman, and Raul won the club’s eighth European cup.
The new black kit complements Madrid’s already-released white Home strip along with the navy Away shirt. However, this latest release from the Spanish giants pays tribute to the club’s nights of European glory with a predominately black foundation along with grey Three Strip trimming. The iconic Real Madrid club crest rounds off the design, and this is hit with a dark yellow hue.
With both and on-field jerseys available — both made with 100% recycled materials — adidas has also announced its new scheme to replace virgin polyester with a recycled alternative in products wherever possible by the end of 2024.
Commenting on the release of the new kit, adidas’ Vice President for football design, Sam Handy, said: “We’ve taken inspiration from Real Madrid’s long-standing place as trendsetters in the game of football, to create something that allows fans and players to stand out.
“First and foremost, this is a piece built to support athletes on the biggest stage. However, by designing at the intersection of legacy, identity, and expression, this is a jersey built to be as successful for the fans on the street, as it is for the players on the pitch.”
