JiyongKim is back to deliver a technical-focused Spring/Summer 2024 collection. This time around, the emerging South Korean label is focusing on knitwear and denim, a first for the brand. This season continues to see the brand take its sun-faded designs to new levels, presenting unique patterns that are a signature to the brand’s identity.
The exploration with knitwear and denim sees JiyongKim’s natural sun-bleached technique take on new forms. The concept has now been translated to accessories, trousers and outerwear pieces giving the garments a deconstructed and industrial aesthetic. Original shapes are taken apart and constructed into new silhouettes giving a utilitarian sense to the styling. Casual and oversized shapes inform the visual aesthetic of the garments, falling effortlessly off the body.
With this collection JiyongKim introduces a collaboration with Alpha Industries which features two jacket designs that incorporate both brand’s visual identity. Utilizing varying materials the collab experiments with 3D patterns. In other outerwear options, the collection also includes a three-way, multi-functional rain jacket that converts into a vest, cropped jacket and a track jacket. Detachable windbreakers, trousers, mesh hoodies and more continue to stay true to the brand’s motifs with its sun-bleached highlights.
