Dickies has tapped New York designer Willy Chavarria for an exclusive capsule collection of elevated workwear. Championing the former label’s utilitarian heritage and infusing Chavvarria’s polished design codes, the collection looks to reimagine staple Dickies silhouettes for the fashion-forward consumer.
“I have had a long and personal relationship with Dickies — growing up wearing the brand and later being inspired by it,” said Chavarria in a statement. “Few brands have been globally iconic and had such an important role in cultural narratives as Dickies. To me, the most elegant look will always be a clean, pressed pair of Dickies pants worn with a crisp white T-shirt.”
Inside the line, Dickies and Chavarria offer a total of nine pieces, including oversized bomber jackets, structured work shirts, wide-leg cargo pants and tailored shorts, among other items. Made in a straightforward color palette of black and beige, the lineup places the emphasis on Chavarria’s sophisticated tailoring, with subtle co-branded tags featured throughout.
“Our latest collaboration with Willy Chavarria is a great representation of how Dickies seeks to highlight our heritage, quality workwear products while also championing creative vision,” added Dickies’ director of merchandising, Ann Richardson. “We’re thrilled to work with a style icon like Willy Chavarria to create a collection that highlights our shared passions of authentic style and self-expression.”
