Japanese streetwear label BAPE has teamed up with Boston-based Concepts to present an Ivy League-themed capsule it’s calling “School of Thought.”
Additional inspirations for the collaboration were taken from “Ametora,” a popular Japanese phrase from the ’80s that means “American Traditional.” Concepts said it “encompasses Japan’s adoption of the American East Coast aesthetic with high-quality, clean dressing.”
Made up of 12 pieces, the collection ranges from $999 USD to $45 USD, with some of the most notable items including a genuine leather varsity jacket, a heavy knit cardigan, and an embroidered tartan plaid flannel. Other items in the collection include crewneck sweatshirts, a variety of tees, two pairs of socks and a plaid cushion.
Notably, graphics created for this collection feature the “APE HEAD” logo accompanied by “1993” numbering, representative of the year BAPE was founded. Additionally, “1996” numbering can be found accompanying Concepts branding, also representing its founding year. Other co-branded elements include the “BAPE STA” logo crossing through the Concepts “C” logo, found on various items throughout the collection.
The “School of Thought” collaboration will be available at Concepts locations in Boston, New York, Dubai and via its official site starting September 2nd.
