For Fforme, understated luxury is the key to style and the brand’s latest collection for the Spring/Summer 2024 season has much to say about the matter. When you exist within the pseudo-minimalist style and muted elegance sphere, it’s hard to reinvent the wheel. But what succeeds about Fforme is its understanding that you in fact don’t need to reinvent the wheel – just keep it turning in a fresh way.
So to keep the wheel turning, the latest collection offered up a clean slate of refined yet minimally modular looks. Revealed at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, the offering took form view effortless overcoats, relaxed tunics, easy coordinating sets, free flowing, yet retained dresses and more. Enhancing the full wardrobe were subtle shades of dusty pink, camel, taupe, beige, black and white.
“I feel the hunger in New York for the level of clothes— the precision, the ease and the combination, the craftsmanship; I think it goes back to things that have happened before in New York, like Halston, Geoffrey Beene and Zoran, said Helbers,” Fforme’s creative director, Paul Helbers told Vogue Runway. And I think we’re bringing that back.”
Even though the pieces appear relatively easy, what made the garments shine were impressively chic details – extending to seamless closures and invisible fastenings, which gave each ensemble a character of its own. This feature alongside layering yielded a collection that was an image of simple elegance.
