Since September 2021, the multihyphenate creative Nigo has been leading the charge at KENZO. Under his stewardship, the France-based label has continued to evolve its direction on contemporary design stylings without losing founder Kenzō Takada’s emphasis on bridging cultural inspirations. In preparation for the seasons to come, the brand has revealed its new Pre-Fall/Winter 2024 campaign.

With it, KENZO decided to chase sunrises, not just on planet Earth, but throughout the galaxy. Simultaneously illustrating a journey from west to east, the cool-toned beachside Canary Island-shot images reveal sci-fi metaphors across the men’s and women’s pieces. But the campaign’s spark lies in its balancing act of Nigo’s design focus and almost the exhibition of interstellar and Earth motifs.

The campaign presets casual pre-season pieces like workwear, cargo flight pants, rhinestone logo tees, dresses, embroidered hoodies and more. Special highlights include the carrot-cut workwear pieces crafted in either denim or KENZO’s Japanese hakeshi beaten firemen jacket-inspired weave pattern alongside deep blue plissé soleil dress. Also embedded in one of the tees is a briefcase graphic design, which nods to the Japanese electronic band YMO.
