UK football platform VERSUShas just presented “Good Hand,” a new editorial campaign that spotlights goalkeeper gloves through a fashion-oriented lens.
Over recent times, various labels have used football as a main point of inspiration. From Umbro’s recent “Make New” campaign with Nova Nørgaard to Palace’s collaboration with Y-3 that welcomed French football legend, Zinedine Zidane for the official campaign imagery, fashion and football will remain as mutual inspirations to one another as the industries continue to grow.
With this being said, the latest “Good Hand” campaign is the first in a new series of curated editorials by The VERSUS Edits. Shot and printed by Niall Hodson, the campaign explores the comfortability and intricate design of goalie gloves, labeling them as a “fashion secret.”
Within the imagery, seven different pairs of goalkeeper gloves are taken off the field and onto the streets, with products from the likes of adidas, PUMA, Kaliaaer, and more being paired with vintage archives as VERSUS imagines a world where goalkeeper gloves are worn as everyday fashion staples.
Whether that is waiting for the train or jumping a neighbor’s garden wall to retrieve a wayward shot, the campaign creates a society where goalie gloves are the perfect accessory for any situation. Additionally, further football accessories, such as shin-pads and hand-knitted memorabilia are also brought together to present a stellar example of how to make the beautiful game stylish.
