1960s Ivy League aesthetics has always been the root of Daiki Suzuki’s personal clothing style. For Spring/Summer 2024, the Engineered Garments founder and designer created a series of looks that embodies the spirit of creative dressing, while still aligning with the label’s deeply-rooted stylistic influences. In addition, elements deriving from outdoor wear, military and preppy aesthetics are also imbued in this refreshing, playful, and eclectic Spring/Summer lineup.
Spanning both menswear and womenswear, the collection consists of 53 looks that featured a range of jackets, shirts, hats, pants, and shorts. An array of iterations can be found for some of Engineered Garments’ classic styles. This includes the Ivy Blazer, LL Jacket, 19 Century BD Shirt, and Sunset Short to name a few.
The pieces are rendered both in plain colors, or doused in a mix of prints starring animals, graffiti, patchwork, check, paisley, and jacquard. Meanwhile, the color palette is made up of mostly classic hues like beige khaki, white, gray, or varying shades of blue. A plethora of materiality is also incorporated throughout the collection, spanning cotton, linen, satin, corduroy, denim, and more.
